Liverpool and Manchester City played out an absorbing 2-2 draw in the Premier League on Sunday, April 10, 2022, leaving just one point separating the top three in the title race.

Diogo Jota gave Liverpool an early lead in the 13th minute, but City hit back through goals from Gabriel Jesus (37') and Bernardo Silva (37'). Sadio Mane equalized for Liverpool in the 46th minute.

The draw leaves Liverpool and Arsenal both on 64 points, with Manchester City one point behind. Chelsea, in fourth, are 10 points behind City with seven games remaining.

Liverpool came into the game off the back of a 3-2 win over Benfica in the Champions League quarter-finals, while Manchester City had beaten Atletico Madrid 1-0 in their quarter-final first leg.

The game was played at a high tempo throughout, with both teams creating chances. Liverpool had the better of the first half, but Manchester City were more dominant after the break.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said after the game: "It was a great game. We had a lot of chances, but we couldn't score more goals. Manchester City are a great team, and they showed their quality today."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said: "I'm very happy with the result. We came back from a goal down, and we showed our character. Liverpool are a great team, and they made it very difficult for us."

The draw leaves the Premier League title race wide open, with all three of the top teams still in contention. Liverpool have a game in hand over City, but City have a more favorable run-in.
